Producing this South African first is The Verjuice Co., a pioneering enterprise in the winelands of South Africa directed by enthusiastic entrepreneur, Janice Botha. Passionate about food and wine, Janice has ventured out from her professional career in film production to establish a company that produces one of the decade’s hottest food products to hit the international market.

The first vintage was produced in 2002 and was the first verjuice in South Africa available on a commercial basis. The Verjuice Co. brand is produced from our very own Pinotage and is blended with other noble red and white varieties from the magnificent vineyards of the Cape winelands. The bunches are gently pressed, stabilised and bottled in the shortest time possible so as to avoid any spoiling and most importantly, clashing with the wine crush.

Packaged in a 750 ml glass bottle with an elegant black gold and label, a descriptive and informative back label and sporting a convenient black screw-cap, this onion-skinned coloured product has met with resonant success. Food lovers and professional cooks enjoy the magic of its natural versatility and flavour enhancement and you will notice verjuice listed in menu descriptions of fine food establishments. Celebrity chefs are also using verjuice more frequently as an ingredient in their recipes when demonstrating at food shows and on international TV food channels.
